Hayden on Sweden - 9th Feb 16
We are currently in Karlstad – waiting and hoping! What is the only true winter/snow rally of the year is currently lacking one key element – snow! Warmer than normal weather over the past 2 weeks has diminshed a lot of snow and today the organisers took the decision to already cancel 5 stages and postpone recce to start one day later. A big freeze is forecasted for the second half of the week that we are all hopeful for to help the rally go ahead, but it is out of everyones control and we must wait and see. We don’t nessecary need snow, we just need ice!.  Read more >>

Paddon after Monte - 27th Jan 16

Well what a tough weekend that was – but I can’t say we were not expecting it. Despite the drier/warmer conditions than normal it by all means did not make it an easy Monte Carlo Rally. A lot of patchy ice and mud was able to keep us on our toes along with quickly changing conditions. Despite retiring on Friday morning, we were able to rejoin for the last 2 days, set some competitive times but more importantly gather a lot of experience and information for when we return here in 12 months time.

The rally was very challenging right from the outset; with overnight snow on Monday meaning - Tuesday recce involved a lot of ice/snow. But it became evident that the roads were changing by the hour, which made it difficult to write accurate notes for the rally. An example of that is the stages we competed on today (Sunday) we recced on Monday…..6 days ago!! Its all part of the challenge, made a little harder for us as we are not used to these conditions and knowing what to expect. I can tell you after this week however, now I am :).

Paddon on Monte - 21st Jan 16
Well it doesn’t seem that long ago the 2015 season ended and we were celebrating the festive season with family. But now its time to kick off what is going to be a big year with our debut at Rally Monte Carlo this week.
This is our first time that we have followed up a near full season with another full WRC campaign – and I must admit with the busy schedule it seems like one year and season merges into another. It’s a strange feeling, however I’m certainly not complaining getting back in the car sooner rather than later..

Hayden on 2015 - 25th Dec 15
Well it’s that time of year again – time for most to wind down, enjoy some time with family and refresh the batteries for 2016. For us of recent, it has been quite the opposite and the off-season since Rally GB has been anything but ‘off’.
After a flying 8 day visit back to NZ immediately following Rally GB for PR and sponsor commitments, it was then back to Europe for a 2 day Monte Carlo test, the launch of our 2016 New Generation i20 WRC car and a further 2 days of testing for Rally Sweden. In between times we have been also working closely with the team, engineers and trainers to prepare for the new season and use every available time to improve the ‘systems’ for a new year.

Rally enthusiasts, the Grey Roots Group, have today released their rankings of the nation’s fastest rally drivers.
The annual lists, now in their 10th year of publication, are eagerly awaited by the rallying fraternity as a measure of how their driving skills are perceived by their peers.
The experienced judging panel, with a competition history ranging the full gamut of clubman through to WRC events, scoured through the stage times of every rally on the 2015 domestic calendar. From there, they determined the relative pace of each driver, irrespective of aberrant data due to punctures or mechanical issues..
