Kurt Busch took the lead for good with 11 laps remaining in the 500-lap STP 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway on Sunday and held off the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of Jimmie Johnson in the closing laps to drive his No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet into victory lane. Will Power drove to victory in a hard-fought street fight in the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the opening race of the Verizon IndyCar Series season. The Aussie past pole winner Takuma Sato on the 33rd of 110 laps and wasn’t to be denied after that as he dominated from then on, to gain his 22nd career victory and second triumph on the 1.8-mile street course. St. Petersburg, Fla. – A mix of new drivers and cars, along with some past Pirelli World Challenge champions, opened the series’ 2014 25th Anniversary season with a classic battle in the Cadillac Grand Prix of St. Petersburg brought to you by StopTech.

Lewis Hamilton got a great jump on the field off the line, and never looked back winning the Malaysian Grand Prix from team mate Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel. It was the first time the team has had a 1-2 finish since the Italian GP in 1959. Lowndes takes Race 6 - 30th Mar 14
Craig Lowndes took a dominant victory over team-mate Jamie Whincup in the third and final race of the weekend at Symmons Plains.
The championship leader took the ascendancy from pole-sitter Whincup off the grid. With track position determining the strategies at Red Bull, Whincup joined several others in pitting at the end of the opening lap.
The move ensured the duo ran off-sequence for the early part of the race, an insurance policy against a Safety Car period. Once the second stops were complete with 37 of the 84 laps remaining, Lowndes enjoyed a near 10 second lead, after which he controlled the race to the flag..

Jamie Whincup made it two wins from two starts on Saturday at Symmons Plains by leading Race 5 of the championship from start to finish. Cleared of wrongdoing in a Race 4 clash with team-mate Craig Lowndes just moments before the start, Whincup out-dragged fellow front-row man Mark Winterbottom to the first corner. The FPR Falcon tracked the five-time champion for the race’s 42 lap duration, eventually taking the flag 0.5s adrift. Jamie Whincup has taken victory in the Symmons Plains opener after mid-race contact with team-mate Craig Lowndes. Lowndes had beaten pole-sitter Whincup to the first corner and led until Lap 26 of 42. The second lap after a Safety Car restart saw Whincup dive to the inside of Lowndes into Turn 6, with the resulting contact bumping Lowndes off the road.
