Supplying more than two thirds of the V8 Supercar field with Racetech seats has its benefits when attending a V8 Supercar meeting. We were lucky enough to get in amoungst the pit garages to take some snaps and discuss driver comfort with the teams prior to racing on a very wet Thursday. Cambridge driver Nick Ross won the NZV8 Touring Cars TLX Championship at the weekend after a gruelling six rounds of nail biting racing between himself and defending champion Jason Bargwanna from Australia his main rival. Ross, one of the first drivers to pilot a new generation TLX race car introduced last season narrowly missed out on securing the title at this time last year when it all came down to the final races in the final round of the season but ended with Bargwanna taking the trophy to Australia..  Read more >>
 
Murphy did not have things all his own way in either race but still extended his 2014 record to 10 wins from 11 races.He led race one from pole but young Aucklander Simon Evans came from third to first with two decisive passing moves at the hairpin, first on Pedersen and then on Murphy himself.  Read more >>
 
The seventeenth running of the Pukekohe 6 Hour is proving to be one of the major draw cards for the forthcoming Mahindra North Island Endurance Series, with many drivers aiming to put their name on one of the most prestigious trophies of the modern era of New Zealand motor racing. With entries across all classes for the event, there could be 45 cars on the starting line for the race, with the top guns all aiming to put their name on the cup.

It was a hugely successful test, with both John and myself able to get familiar with the Hyundai i20 WRC on both gravel and tarmac for the first time. We were able to learn a lot but also build a good knowledge base of the car, which will serve us well for future tests and events. I was surprised about how quickly I was able to adapt to the car, which compliments by driving style well. Richard Mason has led home a Subaru trifecta at the first round of the National Rally Championship at Whangarei today. With his co-driving wife Sara, Masterton’s Mason finished nearly four minutes in front of Christchurch’s Matt Summerfield in a similar WRX STI, while 19 year old youngster Lance Williams from Te Aroha was third in an R4 version of the STI after two days of competition on back country gravel roads north and south of Whangarei. Mason finished just 11.2 seconds behind India’s Gaurav Gill who won the event outright in a more potent Skoda Fabia S2000 as the event also served as the first round of the Asia Pacific Championship..  Read more >>
