The first round of the 2014 Laird Motorsport & Models Southern Rally Series takes place in conjunction with the DriveSouth Rally Of Otago this weekend. Originally for drivers and co-drivers with a residential address from the Waitaki River south, the boundaries were extended in 2012 and now drivers and co-drivers who are members of a Motorsport New Zealand Car Club from and including South Canterbury south and who have a residential address in South Canterbury, Otago or Southland can contest the series..  Read more >>

A steady as she goes approach will be the focus for young rally driver David Holder at the Rally of Otago this weekend, as he aims to gain further experience in what will be in a four wheel drive (4wd) rally car.
The rally doubles as the second round of the Brian Green Property Group New Zealand Rally Championship powered by VINZ. The opening round, held last month in Whangarei, saw Holder take a
shock lead over four time National Champion Richard Mason before a Fuel leak ended his rally..

Earl Bamber has started his Porsche Carrera Cup campaign in Germany strongly with a race win and a third placing in the season-opener today.
Racing at Hockenheim, he also recorded the fastest lap for both races with 1min 43.210sec and 1min 42.786sec respectively. “It was incredible for me and the team especially when we were able to claim our first victory of the season during the first race weekend,” Bamber said..

Thirty drivers turned out for the Autosport Clubs 2014 Rakaia Zig Zag Rd Sprint on Sunday 4th May. The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, second round of FIA World Endurance Campionship, have seen the return of Marco Bonanomi as official Audi Sport driver. The italian have brought on track a special version of the Audi R18 e-tron quattro, car designed for Le Mans race, specially for the aerodynamic package; this particular configuration was not the best for the belgian circuit but allows to Audi Sport and its drivers to collect some important datas and to end the race in the Top 6..  Read more >>

Entries for the annual SpeedSport Scholarship motor racing prize close this weekend and already a record number of female participants have signed on. Organisers are expecting a 'full-house' to tackle the elimination round at the Manfeild motor racing circuit from which the top six with face the final judging panel the next day. An exciting weekend at Pukekohe Park Raceway brought an end to what has been a very successful and thrilling season for the NZV8 Touring Cars TL Championship.
