Well its nearly that time – our debut with Hyundai Motorsport at Rally Sardegna and to say I'm excited is an understatement. However, it is excitement mixed with a lot of nerves, but I have plenty to keep my mind busy over the next few days with recce and our preparation. The last 6 months to this point has felt like ages, the next 6 months with 7 events and a good test program will fly by in comparison. We are well prepared for what the season is going to throw at us and also to learn/improve as much as possible from event to event. .  Read more >>

Round one of the Total Lubricants Rally Xtreme Challenge looked to be straight forward, on paper that is. The Tomoana Warehousing Rally Hawkes Bay was 133km over well known stages, including Cricklewood, Hereheretau, and Mohaka Coach Road, combined with 3 service opportunities. But the reality turned out to be a little different, and as the stages mounted up so did the retirement list. Unfortunately the highly anticipated debut of Alex Kelsey’s mad creation Peugeot only lasted 17km as electrical issues forced him to tour the last 10km of stage 1. However when it was going on song, it looked to have every bit of the potential it is promising. .  Read more >>

Hayden Paddon and John Kennard, New Zealand’s top rally driving duo, are approaching their debut event with Hyundai Motorsport in the 2014 FIA World Rally Championship with their trademark calmness and common sense. Speaking from his base in Frankfurt before heading to the 5-8 June running of Rally Italia Sardegna, Paddon says: “We have to sensible and stay calm. Our first event in the Hyundai i20 WRC is not about setting the world on fire. It’s about getting back in the groove, learning and getting experience to build on for the following events.”.  Read more >>

This coming weekend sees the start of the Total Lubricants Rally Xtreme Challenge for 2014, now in its third season. This year sees the series again contest 5 rounds, from the Wairarapa to the far north. However there are some new events and new roads to be contested. The Taranaki Tarmac Rally debuts in the Challenge and marks the first time sealed roads are used for anything other than touring between stages in this series. Meanwhile the inclusion of Rally New Zealand sees a change of venue not only for Rally Xtreme, but also Rally New Zealand itself, as they take the teams to the Coromandel for the first time..  Read more >>

Nico Rosberg stayed cool under immense pressure from team-mate Lewis Hamilton to win the Monaco Grand Prix for a second time.
The Mercedes duo dominated the race from start-to-finish with Rosberg leading every lap on his way to his second victory of the season as he regained the championship lead. A rapid final stint from Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo saw him threaten Hamilton for second in the closing stages, but in the end the Australian had to settle for an impressive third at the flag. Rosberg made no mistakes at the start as he converted his pole position in the lead as the field streamed into Ste Devote. Hamilton slotted in behind his team-mate in second with Ricciardo in third. .

The World Rallycross Championship came back to the cradle of the discipline – the Kent-based Lydden Hill Circuit where the very first ever rallycross race was held back in 1967 – for round two of the series.
Adding up the European Championship contenders and wild card entries to the mix elevated the field of Supercars to a monstrous number of 37. Quantity went along with quality and with names that have experience in such disciplines as Formula 1, NASCAR and touring cars. It was arguably the most star-packed line up the venue ever saw during a single event..
