Rally enthusiasts, the Grey Roots Group, have today released their rankings of the nation�s fastest rally drivers.
The annual lists, now in their 10th year of publication, are eagerly awaited by the rallying fraternity as a measure of how their driving skills are perceived by their peers.
The experienced judging panel, with a competition history ranging the full gamut of clubman through to WRC events, scoured through the stage times of every rally on the 2015 domestic calendar. Leadfoot Festival is delighted to announce four time IndyCar Champion Race driver Scott Dixon will race at the 2016 Leadfoot Festival. Dixon who has competed for Chip Ganassi Racing since joining IndyCar in 2003 has won the Indy Car championship in 2003, 2008, 2013, and 2015 and won the 92nd Indianapolis 500 in 2008 from pole position. The Autosport Club provided a never before raced bit of road in Mt Thomas Forest for the last round of their 2015 Gravel Sprint Series. The 4km sprint delivered a constantly winding road that climbed and fell through the �mountain�, adding variety to the sprint series which had used some faster public roads in earlier rounds. This road had just two real straights, one of which went steep downhill and ended with a tight turn with unforgiving drops both sides. Ferdinand Habsburg of Austria is returning for a second tilt at the Toyota Racing Series, which starts with the Lady Wigram Trophy race at Ruapuna Park near Christchurch on January 16 and 17. He contested the 2015 TRS championship with Victory Motor Racing, finishing 11th with a best result of second place in the second race at the Hampton Downs round. For 2016 the 18 year old will move to Giles Motorsport who won the team�s championship in 2014.
�I can�t wait to return to the Toyota Racing Series,� said Habsburg from his Vienna home. �Last year I had a lot to learn and was splitting my time between studying and racing.�

Well as some of you may have already read today - it's with great privilege that we confirm a new 3-year contract with Hyundai Motorsport in the WRC. I think it was one of the worst kept secrets that we were continuing with the team but to get a multi year deal is what we have been working hard for over the past two seasons.
It's amazing to have the security of the next few years - in which time we aim to be at the top. It also means the pressure of performing for a job is less and can focus more on preparation, driving faster and achieving better results.

Well what a challenging week that was with Tour de Corse. We knew before the event that with the unique logistics and itinerary of the rally that it was going to be challenging, but the horrendous weather on Thursday/Friday certainly threw us all a curve ball.
